When we currently receive global branches into our workspace, we need to separately merge the global branch into main and then pull the refreshed main branch into each local branch.

It would be ideal to be able to apply the global branch to all local branches to remove the step of having to merge the global branch first.

If that's not feasible, then adding global branches to cross-branch data design features would be preferable to the current setup.
